For hunters heading out in Illinois this fall, the east central portion of the state should be an area of focus, according to Bleich. However, dont be discouraged if areas you planned to hunt were mowed this summer. Some squirrely weather may be responsible for the fall-off in pheasant numbers. Weve got some proposals that would open up some more CRP acres and also weve got programs with other organizations that were looking at to get more prairie on the landscape.
